I like independents because agencies always have verification headaches and generally cost more. Of course, the do offer more reliability and recourse, but when possible I prefer an independent.

Independant because it's cheaper, usually more friendly, and all the money goes to the girl. Some agencies bait & switch, the girls upsell, and generally are clockwatchers. At least from my limited experience.

I choose independent most of the time. If I am in a hurry and want to save money then an independent is my first choice. But I learned to check that they have reviews (most of the time). When I have more time and more bucks then I enjoy an agency girl. I use agencies more when I travel out of town too.

I prefer independant girls as they usually provide a better GFE, but some really great girls go with agencies to avoid the hassels of answering the phones and scheduling appointments.  Just realize that most agency girls are 'wham, bam, thank you mame, and out the door you go'.....

Independents seem to be the better value. Agencies appear to almost always have some of the hottest looking ladies, at a price... but they would be a little too "high profile" for my taste. If you do your research on Independents, you could get some of the top talent at a better value and keep UTR.

Agreed Doctor. It should be noted that DrSteele makes a point to say that RESEARCH is the key with indy girls. They are a lot more likely to not show up or to not live up to the promise of their ads, so you have to get the story on them from online groups that you trust, like this site and USASexGuide. Agency girls are generally more reliable and that does say something for them.

Hey Bats, no disrespect…but what do you consider reliable? Calling for a specific girl and having a different girl show up? Having a girl tell you that the “listed price” is less than the actual rate (upsell)?

I’m sure that there are several good agencies out there, but I think that you need to do almost as much research on the agencies as you need to do for the indies.

I agree with the consensus here but I have to say that there are some exceptions. There are some very good agencies out there that go above and beyond to make sure that they always have the best girls. I've used a few in my time that were just great. I think the good thing about these agencies was that they would listen to exactly what I wanted and then try and match it up with one of the horses in the stable.

That said, agencies are usually way more expensive and the girls are usually less-openminded. The girls are generally clock watchers because they get into trouble if they overstay their time. Most of the agencies that I have used have left me feeling a bit like I just used a pimp to get some action. I also had a number of experiences where the driver waited right outside my house the entire time which was not exactly a great thing to do with the neighbors--what would you do if a big gorilla in a suit was parked outside your house at 1 o'clock in the morning!

I typically prefer to see ladies who are indies and who take their business seriously.

Ladies who are registered providers on review sites and belong to verification sites.

Ladies who post on message boards and have ads on every site you can find.

Those ladies, the ones who work this like a real business, are the most likely to be great during sessions. They realize that word of mouth and reviews can affect their business.

They work very hard to build and protect their reputations, and they try their best to make every customer as satisfied as possible so that they will come back themselves and recommend that their friends visit too.

I have met a couple ladies at agencies that I liked, but they became indies in short order to have more control over their own business.

I have nothing against agencies at all, but I have always found that a person working their own business works harder than a person working for someone else.

I would choose an Agency over an Independent. Alot of Independents tend to be flakey and uses fake pics. If i do go with an Independent then it's because i know her and trust her. There's not really any difference when it come to cost. The Escort decides her rate of pay. The agency just makes sure she's on the up an up.

I think it kind of depends on what type of girl you are into.  A lot of great providers get started out in agencies before moving out on their own.  If you like fresh young girls who need to be taught the ropes then agencies can be great.  I do admit that I agree with the general opinion expressed here when I say that I generally prefer indies as they tend to provide a better service and can often be had at a discount.  I also prefer indies for the simple fact that I know that all of my money is going to the provider and not to some shady middleman.  For those who don't have any references, agencies can also be a good way of getting some refereneable hobbying experience as many indies seem to screen more severely.  Just my two cents.

i like the 'pre-dance' of scheduling an appt with a guy..

even if its just a few emails or a nice voice on the phone prior to meeting, i think that getting to know someone helps build the anticipation

its like gertting the whole meal instead of just the main course.

I also enjoy setting up the appointments and getting to talk a bit on the phone beforehand especially if the provider has a sexy voice. I find you can usually tell a lot about the type of service you are going to receive after just a few minutes on the phone. If a provider is rude or disinterested on the phone I generally thank her and call somebody else who is more interested in my business. This whole screening part is something that you can't do with agencies so good point Ana.

i realize it might make an agency girl feel superior to be able to "get" $350 from a customer while i am only "getting" $200 but after the agency is paid, we are still "getting" the same amount.
the only one who benefits from this extra flow of money is the agency, which is just fine but i wouldnt necessarily deem it "always better" unless i was an agency owner...... as an indy escort, i could care less, i would only make out the same but as a customer, . i'd be more likely to think it's "always worse" since i would be the one sporting the flow. .

If you find a good reputable agency that you trust it gives you the advantage of being able to try out multiple girls without worrying about a bait and switch. While there are a lot of bad agencies out there, the good ones will have a good amount of turnover which is a good thing for those of us who prefer seeing many different ladies instead of just picking one.

You make a good point. I'm sure some agencies are better than others but the sheer volume that they deal with probably ups the chances of them being busted at some point. On the flip side, you probably have less chance of running into a sting when you deal with an agency.

Agencies mean higher numbers of people involved - pure and simple. If ANY ONE of their girls, clients, or owners comes to the attention of LE, now, or in the future, and you've managed to get your name on their client list -- YOU ARE VULNERABLE!! Ok, the sting may not happen today, but if one day in the future, you read that the agency you used in the past was busted. SO ARE YOU!!! Your exposure NEVER ENDS!!!!! And, it's a clear and present danger that LE targets agencies, if for no other reason that just for the sheer power of "Bang for the Buck" Don't entertain, even for one New York second, that some agency owner isn't gonna offer up YOUR INFORMATION to the cops if he thinks it will help get him a lighter charge or sentence!!! In that scenario, Agencies are greedy and selfish and they sure won't give a damn about your privacy!!!

It's a sheer matter of numbers and the timelessness of your data on the agency database. -- Think about it. Desert Diva clients numbered over 5000 people with encounters going back for years. The papers published 5000 names going back years!!! Can you say, "BUSTED?"

If you must deal with an agency, then get an anonymous debit card, a throwaway cell phone, and some means of transportation without a license plate on it.

Yes, Independents may pose a risk, but, if you are careful and savvy, it's a lot easier to verify and validate their authenticity. And, since, usually, there is only one person involved, the risk is reduced.

Don't misunderstand me. I am not insensitive to the need for Providers to know who they are dealing with... but there are risks to all of us in this hobby.
