Dissect the Ad
As a means of showing how difficult it is to be a hobbyist and why real reviews are so important, I request opinion on the following ad:

Is it real or fake? How do you know?

That took 10 seconds to answer, FAKE! She has had 4 different ads in Minny with different names on them all! If it is real she has to be running from something to change names that often! B & S at best! you would think they could find more obscure pics, that one has been worn out already! Oh I forgot, different Ph# in them all as well!
oh yeah, so much intelligence and sophistication that she can't even spell "gorgeous".

I'm guessing it's also a agency or pimp as she is incall only, but is at 4 places. So you call the number say which incall you want and I bet that just happens to be the one they are at. B&S and definately a formulaic add. I see these all the time in Chicago BP. I read BP mostly just for laughs now.
Net
Tineye is also getting better and better.

I'd add that she doesn't seem to have any history when searching her phone number on Google and that the ad just looks fake. Oh, and she's pretty hot to be charging a hundred bucks in LA.
Yeah, first clue is 100 for 1 hour and looking that good.
TGTBT, no doubt about it.

Gotta agree. I wouldn't waste my time even researching this one as there's obviously something going on at 100 an hour.
As a means of showing how difficult it is to be a hobbyist ...
This is not difficult at all. Not even a slight challenge.
Your First Clue, $100 /hr, should raise the hairs on the back of your neck - TGTBT!
Second Clue, phone # search turns up ZERO. No other ads, nothing. This is now highly suspect and I wouldn't bother
At this point, why would you continue to search, 2 strikes, she's out - pretty simple.
Thought you said this was difficult? This shows us nothing other than how EASY it is to hobby.
Just our 4 cents,

LOL, maybe HW is giving us an easy one to start with. Here's another:

Anotrher easy one.
She claims to be 100% independant and she appears very young(not married). Why is the account used to post the ad held by a guy? I don't want to know who the GUY is in any case - daddy, bf or pimp! All scream bad news to me!
@Peaceful, Hey, that is a handy little trick. How did you determine the posting account belonged to a man? Please share your useful technique with your fellow hobbyists.
@ HungWell & JohnJohn...
The first step we suggest to hobbyists is to Google the phone #.
Then review the search results. We notice on the first page that we got several locations (Boston, New York, Portland & Stamford) and different names (Jill, Kristii, Melissa & Meghan)
The potential inconsistencies raise our First Red Flag and warrant further evaluation.
Next, we opened several of the links from the search results. We got the following:
Some ads had been deleted or were not easily findable.
Others showed pics, and at first, they seemed of the same person, amature... but as we went on (we opened almost 15 links from 3 pages of search results) we found some inconsistencies (all linked to the same phone #) This is now our Second Red Flag!!!
Additionally, this is the ONLY method of contact - so you must proceed with extreme caution, and do your due-dilligence.
Due to some inconsistent pics, we open the second page of google search results.
The older the ads get (passed the first of the year), the more trouble we have finding "Jill" but the location pattern seems to repeat. Now, there is a possibility the lady changed her name. (We will speculate as to why later), but many do so and a legit reason is a bad experience with a stalker. Thus, we must explore this wrinkle further - do the pics seem to be the same person?
No luck, we found someones face book, and the person seems to be a young girl and even seems to look like the one in the ads, but the fact the # had been used long before "Jill" plus the photos of the other girl seem far too much of a stretch to be the same girl (Third Red Flag!).
Thus to me she is one of the following:
A) B&S (with either a pimp, or an agency) - 70% chance
B) Girl who switched her identity - 5% chance and possibly legit
C) Web cam girl - 25% chance
The odds are getting slimmer (3 red flags), we suggest hobbyists move on as there is little to verify her, no website, no email contact, no reviews, not a very long posting / advertising history (going back before 2010 for "Jill") plus all the inconsistencies discovered already.
Again, neither of us thought this was particularly "tough" or "challenging", in about 20 minutes we could not find enough info to feel safe contacting this poster.
Now, if you mean "difficult" as time consuming and disappointing, then you might get some sympathy, especially if 2/3rd of these CL and BP advertisers are shams, so many "hotties" to only be let down by your research, we can understand the how disenchanted you mist feel - but please, let's not confuse that with a challenge not easily avoided with an ounce of intelligence, basic computer skills and a good measure of self control.
Just our 4 cents,

Excellent process and one all hobbyists should do before meeting anyone new. Also, Peaceful: Please do share how you know it was a guy?
Excellent research Christine.
hmm...good work by all. Next time I'll have to be a bit trickier in my ways.
heh the fake ad got yanked from the cl
Great thread!
That's something newbies can try... just post the ads that interest them here... and let the community do the research

I was really hoping @PEACEFULSOUL was gonna let us in on his secret - how he was able to determine the poster of the ad in CL was a guy.
Maybe he just had a lucky guess.
We invite others in the community to post links to ads here and to request help from the community to determine if those ads are of legit providers.
Just our 4 cents.

Yup just got lucky...
, If I thought everyone could do it, I would have shared my research techniques.
well I emailed the posting when it was up and got to the same conclusion.
Guy posting for her.
I usually spot a pimp if:
They list EVERY service in great misspelled detail including prices without consideration of the womans safety
you google the number in the ad and several names, pics of ladies come up.
If I thought everyone could do it, I would have shared my research techniques.
Humm, I think Alex and I may have missed the point of this thread.
We were operating with the belief that techniques used would be generally available, and revealing the process used to determine the status of a possible advertiser would be beneficial to the community.
No? Our bad then.

Aah s--t, I'm agreeing with FC again. Gonna have to check my meds.
I have a feeling we misinterpreted what Peaceful initially said. I think he was just referring to the fact that a provider profile on this site could be uploaded by a hobbyist which would make that profile "run by a hobbyist". Already been clarified that it isn't quite like that. Is that what you were referring to Peaceful, or were you saying there is a way to tell the sex of a BP ad poster?

this is where the breakdown in interpretation occurred. he's saying that it was a lucky guess that a guy posted the craigslist ad. he further states that if there was an actual technique, he'd share it.
probably the confusion was caused because of blatant fibbing. he didn't sound like he was guessing when he initially stated the ad was posted by a guy.

no problem but i think dude is holding out.
i think there IS a way to tell who owns the account that posted that ad.
but the ad was already expired by the time i tried to look at it and figure it out.

Full disclosure has not been fully followed by the majority of the posters on this thread! The thread started with a blantantly obvious fake ad. The methods of discearning they are fake was not really the intended purpose of the thread, it just took on that path quickly. MHO it was a train headed nowhere fast! ( I am quite positive that the ladies do NOT disclose ALL the means they use to screen gents, ESpecialy on this PUBLIC board, they might on a PO board, but I would NOT bet my life that ALL ladies share ALL techniques even there)

I'll forgive the msitaken site notation, it didn't really matter, CL versus BP no biggies but you were called on it quickly.
As to the profile generations, I understand how that works very well, have had to do it myself a few times. The parts that I call BS is any person with the experience of doing them would NOT put THEIR OWN sex and age in the profile for the lady NO? BUT the one I pointed out further points to more BS posted in a trail of BS.
If we look at the "created profile closely" it is generated by a guy, everyone understands why this happens. The BS parts is in the WAY it was done!
The profile, everything BUT age and sex ertains to the lady, so were are led to believe.
The profile is clarified by the creator as being made up to give fellow hobbyists some good information as the way it has to be done via lady NOT having a profile. True almost EVERY ladies profile was made up by a guy, but how many of them are mixed with details of the lady AND the guy creating it as part of the PERSONAL details? I'll oint to another BS part of that profile. Look at the ladies REGULAR rate asked for and what he claims to have paid? The profile is created stating the ladies REGULAR rate is 6000/hr and it also states that he paid a mere 200/hr. I have heard of ladies running specials, but I highly doubt a lady that normally charges 6000/hr reduced her rate to 200 for anyone. Am I the only one that thinks that is pure BS? I have a little back ground to rely on with the poster stating he has freinds that had children with aliens, talk to aliens, have written books of events with aliens and supports it with NOTHING but( I don't have to prove anything when simply asked for the names of teh books or a website where the pictures or testimonials gcould be found) lame statements.
