Yeah, this is Hung's territory. You are an invader, but I'm sure he won't mind. It's only been a few days and I'm already annoyed as shit about this flu. I started doing a bit of research and math and crap. The regular flow kills people at a faster rate than what the Swine flu gets credit for. Regular flu kills 36,000 a year, in US alone, that's 500 a week. We have maybe a 50 cases in the US, and I can't even find out if those deaths are confirmed or not. Just because it can be passed by an animal we for the most part don't see till it's on our plates doesn't mean we should freak out. Well, I'm sure the first 2 posters aren't. Smiling

lol love the humor in this thread Eye-wink

heres another up*date
The human swine flu outbreak continues to grow in the United States and internationally. Today, CDC reports additional cases of confirmed swine influenza and a number of hospitalizations of swine flu patients. Internationally, the situation is more serious too, with additional countries reporting confirmed cases of swine flu. In response to the intensifying outbreak, the World Health Organization raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 4 ******

A Phase 4 alert is characterized by confirmed person-to-person spread of a new influenza virus able to cause “community-level” outbreaks.” The increase in the pandemic alert phase indicates that the likelihood of a pandemic has increased.

There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.

* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

* Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
* If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

These are precautions that are a good idea to take whether there is a swine virus or not. Daen makes a good point about the fact that the regular flu kills far more people every year. Call me a skeptic but I think a lot of the hype here is media driven and I'm not worried at all about catching the virus. The media referenced the Great Influenza pandemic of 1919 which was responsible for the deaths of 20,000,0000 million without mentioning the fact that most of the people who died were malnutrioned from years of rationing. If the media had anything better to talk about, we probably wouldn't have even heard about this flu.
Anyway, enough of that boring "academic" stuff and remember, cover your mouth when you go out chubby chasin'

Coming from Mr. Politically Correct himself that's pretty meaningful!
