Got a tip today from a friend of a business tha is across from the V.I.P. spa on 1960 and jones road. They informed me that the authorities got written permission from the companys owner to post camera's in their store to watch the V.I.P. spa and the A A spa that is across the street. The camera's from what he told me are remote operated and solar powered and are being used to record the licence plates of customers at these spa's. I don't know how many other places are being monitored but they said that they used unmarked utility vehicles to mount the camera's. This could be total b.s. but it kinda freaked me out a bit so i felt i should pass it along to everyon else just incase.
But here is my question, to be busted for soliscitation (typo?) don't they have to catch you there and not just the fact that your vehicle was spotted in front of their spa or if you even go in?
Hard to believe the Harris Co. Sheriff has time and $$ with the current budget problems to mount and use cams just to watch parking lots near AMP's. I would think the IRS might be interested in knowing that a specific car that is always there every day at same time, which would likely be an owner or manager.
Easy to go check out if any cams are mounted that seems to be oriented at these businesses
VIP was eventually busted, but its back open and in business once again
right I actually saw it on MSNBC it was crazy the were busting the Asians from there but good to here they are back and running
It's not illegal to park in a parking lot, so no, they can't bust you by recording your license plate on a camera. There must be a crime for an arrest to occur. However, if you are inside the place during a raid, you will take a ride downtown whether or not you were participating. As the saying goes, you might avoid the rap but you won't avoid the ride.
