First timers guide to Tijuana / TJ hookers and the Zona Norte

I have never been south of the border, but I keep seeing people mention it here, so I thought I'd start a place to discuss it. Here is what I have learned in my research. Hopefully, those of you with more first hand knowledge will add something.
As I understand it prostitution is technically illegal, but officially sanction in the zone of tolerance (zona de tolerancia) also called zona norte, since it is in the north part of the city. It is also called zona roja / zona rosa, the red light district or just Coahuila, from the street name.
There are several spots in this red light district, but a little research suggests that these are most popular:
- Adelitas / Adelita Bar - A bar where all the girls are working. Most people say it has the most girls and the best looking girls. Some girls arrive by noon, lots of choice by 2:30 PM. It is located on Calle Coahuila between Ninos Heroes and Constitution. Conveniently next to Hotel Coahuila
- Hong Kong Bar - Set up like an American strip club with girls dancing on the bar and tables. Best after 9PM. It is located on Calle Coahuila, West of Adelitas.
- Chicago Club - Has girls as well as shemales (pre-op transexuals). Totally dead before 3 PM, pretty empty til about 9PM, mainly hoping very late night. Located on Avenida Constitution just north of Calle Coahuila. Conveniently next to Hotel Jalos
Smaller / less popular spots are:
- Bar Tropical on Calle Coahuila
- Delicias Bar on Avenida Constitucion.
- El tigre
- La Tropa on Calle Coahuila
- La Cascada
- Las Chavelas on Calle Coahuila
- Luxor for $150 you get a girl, a room and all the tequila and beer you can drink
- New York Club on Calle Coahuila.
- Miami Bar in Callejon Coahuila alley.
- Purple Rain. The offer a brothel style line up $80-120 for a girl and a room, booze is extra
Additional TJ tips / info
- Typical prices seem to be $50-$70 for the girl plus $11-$12 for a room.
- Take a cab to / from Zona Roja, DO NOT WALK from the border, it is NOT SAFE.
- Most people recommend that you skip the streetwalkers, but they may only cost you $25.
- Always use condoms.
- Best place to stay (for more than an hour)

Some good info here. Adelita's is definitely still the best place to go for guaranteed hotties but it definitely isn't the cheapest place. If you speak some Spanish you can also often talk the SW's down to less than 25 especially if it's a slow day for them.

Just two caveats. if you decide to go with the street or bar girls as opposed to an agency. you will typically pay for the pop not the duration. meaning the girls are motivated to get you up and out as quickly as possible. so typically if you time a girl who goes up to the hotel with a guy she will usually be back in about 20 minutes because as soon as she pops the guy in her mind she is done so on an hourly basis you are really paying around 150 to as much as 200 or more per hour where as with an agency you are paying for a full hour or more of companionship. It is well after the post, but I thought I would put in my experience from South of the Border.
If you rent the room yourself at one of the "hotels" associated with the nightclub, you can get a chica to stay the night if you want. The girls have to give most of their hard earned money to the house. That is why the "muscle" inspects her purse on the way out for extra cash earned.
So, I rent the room, tell the girl(s), and prepare to have one hell of a night, because they get to keep the money they earn. Make sure you tell the girl that you've rented the room or you will have the usual one-pop experience.
Or, you can wander down the "alley of ill repute" as I call it, the pick a girl and go to her own room. They tend to be freelancers. All that being said, I usually go to regulars and don't worry.
