Hello.
Axiom: If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
Question: A provider I really respect offered me a free one. I wrote a really good review for her, and I do show a lot of attention and respect for providers. (The profession is unjustly demonized, for what possible reason, I haven't a clue.)
In any case, I'm reluctant to follow through. Yes, I did accept the offer, and I do have a basic trust in the person. I've only seen her once. She is reputable with website, and membership on several boards and with good reviews, e.g., TER, Naughty reviews, etc. She also lists her ad on Datecheck. I don't know about other security boards.
Does anyone out there have an opinion. I know to some, this post is a joke. In a few days I'll probably be laughing with you. As for the immediate future, I submit this as a very serious query.
Well, I have the results--I think. Since no one responded, I guess no one really gives a damn. LOL
I see nothing wrong with a free one as a "thank you" for your recognition of the fact that a provider is better than average and worth recommending to a friend. If it is a quid pro quo that's a different thing. Just like a tip is for great service you've already received or taking a great customer out to a nice dinner or some type of entertainment is a thank you for business you've already done. I've had long term relationships with providers who occasionally handed the envelope back to me and just said, "nope, today was a pleasure and a thank you for coming to see me." Do you think I have some loyalty and affection for those ladies? Business is the same no matter what business it is.
I'm curious to know how this turned out.
Since I know you, I tend to believe her offer was sincere.
